Welcome to Burling Alternative Middle and High School!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Dr. Michael McCoach and I am the principal at Burling. I have been the administrator here for the last three years. I have been in the Pennsauken School District since 2008, where I began as a middle school teacher at Howard M Phifer Middle School, I then moved to the Pennsauken High School as a teacher before coming to Burling.

I am a lifelong learner, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University, a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Rowan University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing and coaching basketball, and just being outside.

I am very excited to work with your students on their growth towards becoming young adults.  I look forward  to a great school year!
